Winter Sangha Seminar

Please Join us for our Winter Sangha Seminar.

The Sangha Seminar strikes a balance between formal Rinzai Zen Practice and intellectual study.

This time, our lecturers will be:

• Paula Arai, Louisiana State University, a specialist on Women’s Practice in Japanese Soto Zen.
• Michel Mohr, University of Hawaii, a specialist on the history of Rinzai Zen from the Tokugawa era to the present.
• Kendo Hal Roth, Brown University, a scholar-practitioner from our sangha, specialist on classical Daoism and Contemplative Studies.

These will be three full days of study and practice so people should plan on arriving on or before Thursday, December 12th and depart on Monday, December 16th.

There will also be an optional Sangha Gathering on December 16 for those that participated in the Seminar.  In the morning we’ll gather oral histories of Zen practice and in the afternoon we’ll share ideas for practice in daily life.
